How to Pick Your South Florida Engagement Photo Outfits
September 1, 2020
It’s always a little intimidating to have your picture taken …. even if it’s just a photo on an iPhone that is taken by a friend. We still want to look nice, make sure nothing is in our teeth and that our hair is behaving! I realize that preparing for your engagement session can be a little overwhelming. Here are some tips for outfits and accessories that will make the e-shoot preparation a little more manageable!
Dress UP but still be yourself! You want your photos to really show who YOU are but still dressed up!
Dress the same scale- if your partner is wearing a suit and you’re wearing jeans and a tank, you’re not going to complement each other.
Don’t try to MATCH…try to pick outfits and accessories that coordinate instead. If everyone wore the same exact color at their e-shoot, how boring would those images be?
MOST PATTERNS are actually okay…. however, graphics are not favorable for portraits. If you’re wearing a pattern, make sure it’s not overwhelming and distracting.
Empty your pockets! Literally. You don’t want to have key chains or phones showing through your pockets.
Keep in mind your location- think of what colors would go best against greenery or what would look best if you plan to get in the ocean for #WaterWednesday!
Most often, couples like to have one casual, everyday outfit and then one outfit that is dressier! If you splurged on a two hour engagement session, this will give your shoot two totally different “looks”.
Make sure you’re comfortable in what you’re wearing! If you feel uncomfortable with how it feels, it will most likely reflect in your photos!
Keep in mind the time of year and what you will be wearing! If you are naturally a sweaty person and you chose a park for your location, maybe opt for a color and material that would hide any kind of sweat marks.
Skin tones and colors are actually so much more flattering when they are natural -so skip the spray tan and tanning beds, trust me!!
